*ELECTION INTEGRITY NEWS*

Signature Matching - Our Election Integrity Committee is verifying signatures on vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots for the special election for Senate District 14.  The Supervisor of Elections (SOE) must compare the signatures obn VBM ballot envelopes to the voters' signatures on their voter registrations.  By double checking these signatures, we keep the SOE on their toes!

Pass the Save Act! - In Washington, pressure is intensifying on Republicans, specificaly Senate Leader John Thune, to pass the SAVE Act, which would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and a voter ID in order to vote.  Senator Thune is waffling on this.  Let him know you want it passed.  You can sign a petition here:  https://www.electionintegritynetwork.org/ or Contact Senator Thune: (202) 224-2321 or https://www.thune.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contact

If you have been hearing a lot about the filibuster, and are curious, this a good explanation:  https://heritageaction.com/blog/a-guide-to-the-talking-filibuster

Florida Bills HB991 and SB 1334 - Good News! Florida passed a significant Election Integrity billl HB 991 and companion SB 1334. Among other things, these bills require that, before a person can be registered to vote, their citizenship is confirmed by documentary proof of citizenship or by DHSMV records.

Poll Watching - We will be poll watching this year's Primary and General Elections.  We will be ramping up recruitment and training in the coming months.  Stay tuned!
